2024 in Review This year started as a year of change. We were fortunate to welcome Hunter to the team—his eager, go-getter attitude and willingness to tackle new challenges have been a fantastic addition to Cutting Edge Metals! Our backlog remained strong, and we went full speed ahead—working weekends, bringing in family, part-time employees, and interns to meet demand. The months flew by, and before we knew it, summer had arrived! One of the highlights of the year was our networking event in August at the Evergreen Space Museum, where we partnered with PNAA, MEDP, and the McMinnville Chamber to showcase the growing aerospace sector. The turnout exceeded expectations, making it a huge success! We continued to push forward through the summer, supporting other machine shops with overflow work and keeping our momentum strong. Then, in September, our world changed. We unexpectedly lost our daughter, the one in our family who knew our business well. Getting back up and moving forward was one of the hardest lessons we’ve ever faced. Through it all, our network of friends, customers, suppliers, and community lifted us up. We felt the virtual hugs, the kindness, and the unwavering support, which meant more than words can express. In October, we hosted our annual open house—a decision that wasn’t easy, but one that felt necessary. It was a step toward normalcy, and in many ways, a reminder of why we keep moving forward. November brought another incredible event at the Evergreen Museum—a half-day Aerospace & AI Summit. With the help of MEDP, PNAA, Evergreen Museum & Events, and the Chamber, we explored the UAV sector, AI in business, and cutting-edge propulsion research from OSU aerospace students. As December arrived, we embraced the quiet of the holidays—spending time with family, doing maintenance in the shop, and reflecting on the year. Through the highs and the unimaginable lows, we were blessed by unexpected pillars of support and strength—from our business community and our loved ones. Here’s to 2025—whatever it may bring, we’ll keep moving forward.
