Yesterday we took in two solo bottle babies. They're both around 3 or 4 days old, eyes closed, and male. Kittens season is upon us, today East Valley Shelter has reported 13 new bottle babies have been dropped off at that shelter (between 3 days and 2 weeks old). If these kittens don't find fosters, they'll be put down because shelters do not have the staff or equipment to care for such little ones. YOU or someone you know is probably going to come across kittens "in the wild", Mom is NOT going to be around (she's avoiding the humans and trying not to draw attention to her kittens). If you find kittens in the wild, and they're in a safe enough spot, they look clean and chubby - they're doing ok and leave them alone. Check this website to access the situation and get advice https://lnkd.in/gEEfG-kc and listen to Cat Expert Samantha Bell from Best Friends Animal Society in this podcast interview https://lnkd.in/gwGjimVU
