  • Hello! Gretchen here. At a recent consultation, a client shared some powerful advice, “You are not the keeper of the museum.” Our clients often feel guilty for parting with their deceased family members’ belongings. It’s understandable, especially when those items are sentimental and linked to strong memories. Clients feel a strong sense of responsibility – not unlike that of the museum keeper. But letting go allows space for the most meaningful pieces to shine. When my dad passed away, I kept his business card holder. I use it several times a week and always fondly think of him and how hard he worked for our family. ?? #MemoryKeeping #HomeOrganization

  • "Our clients are the real stars!" ?? Here’s what Christina had to say about their experience with our team. We couldn’t be more grateful for their kind words! ?? "Amazing service!! The people who work for Cut the Clutter RVA are so kind, patient and helpful!!! We were able to get a lot of their help in decluttering and reorganizing our son's playroom and our downstairs office/guest room. While it was a bit overwhelming, it was much less so than doing the decluttering ourselves. And not only did they help us declutter, but they also donated all of the items we didn't need anymore that would still be useful to others. We specifically want to give a shout out to Jen, Emily and Sherri for their help. And to Maria for helping us schedule everything. You are all amazing and we appreciate you!! ????" #DeclutterYourLIfe #RVA

  • Tired of cluttered cabinets and countertops? Let's talk about maximizing VERTICAL SPACE in your kitchen! Think beyond just the shelves! Here's how to make the most of every inch: ? Over-the-door organizers - Utilize the back of cabinet doors for snacks, spices, cutting boards, or cleaning supplies. ? Shelf risers - Instantly double your cabinet space. Perfect for stacking plates, bowls, and canned goods. ? Under-shelf baskets - Slide them onto existing shelves for extra storage. Great for snacks, towels, or even spices. ? Wall-mounted racks - Hang pots, pans, utensils or even spice jars on the wall. #StorageSolutions #KitchenOrganization

  • When we step into a client’s home, we aren’t just organizing spaces—we’re nurturing hearts. Recently, as we began our session with a client who has ADHD, she shared feelings of guilt and embarrassment over her clutter, focusing on everything she thought was "wrong." But here’s the truth: there’s always something going right. Instead of dwelling on the mess, we celebrated her strengths—what was working. Small containers with labels? A win! Small systems she had maintained? Proof of progress! By shifting the focus from shame to success, we helped her see that she was already on the path to an organized, peaceful home. Decluttering isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. And we’re here to remind you: you’re doing better than you think, asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. No judgments, just solutions!

  • Hi friends. Can we be real for a minute? I want to talk about ADHD. When it comes to keeping our homes organized and functioning to help us achieve our goals, it can be paralyzing. But guess what? Our team can help- we understand WHY the challenges are real and have methods to help you clear the hurdles. Recently one of our team experts worked with a client with ADHD. As we helped them cut the clutter in their kitchen, we hit the "junk" drawer. It was full of a wide assortment of items. Our client quickly shut the drawer saying it was impossible and would take WAY too long. We could see and feel their anxiety rising, doubting how they could possibly make all of those decisions. Rather than forcing them through the experience, one of our team members worked with them on other choices that felt achievable within the kitchen. Meanwhile, our ADHD expert worked to sort the contents of the "junk" drawer into categories and break it down into clear questions. As a result, our client had the space to process decisions with intention and clarity. The best part, it was done in less than 15 minutes and our client walked away with renewed confidence in their ability to succeed! Isn’t it nice to know that help exists to clear the hurdles that life throws at us? If you are feeling anxious and overwhelmed about spaces in your home, give us a call. We’d love the opportunity to help! 804-456-4433 | [email protected] #ADHD #HomeOrganization

  • "We love hearing from our amazing clients!" ?? Check out this thoughtful review from Tess—it warms our hearts to know our work makes a difference! "I was the successful bidder on Cut the Clutter RVA's silent auction item for Big Brothers Big Sisters. I was really excited about the nudge this gave me to tackle my attic space. I’ve been living in my house for 6 years but this is my 8th house as an adult and the amount of “stuff” I’ve accumulated over the years and moves was overwhelming. As I said, I was really excited but I could not have predicted how incredible these ladies did their job and the hard work and care they put into making my attic a space that I could more effectively utilize. 3 ladies from Cut the Clutter RVA, Shannon, Jen & Niki, showed up at 9am and began the work. They not only tackled the clutter, but they carried, lifted, hauled, helped me make easy decisions and genuinely rocked their work! I bought new shelving for the attic that they not only hauled upstairs but they put it together and staged it in the most effective areas to maximize the storage in my attic. These amazing women were done by 3pm!!! It was a very FULL attic space and I could not be more impressed! I’ve sent the pics to everyone I know. Thank you Cut the Clutter RVA! You are amazing and I am already thinking about what area I can have you tackle next!" #OrganizationGoals #ClientLove
