Border Patrol Seizes Fentanyl During a secondary inspection, a Border Patrol K-9 team alerted agents to search further. Agents searched the trunk of the vehicle and discovered nine cellophane bags containing suspicious blue pills. CBP Officers Bust Fentanyl and Meth Smuggling Attempts CBP Officers stopped two smuggling attempts within a 24-hour period. The first seizure occurred after encountering a 16-year-old female pedestrian who was referred to the secondary inspection area leading CBP Officers to finding 3.6 pounds of blue fentanyl pills strapped to the teenager’s abdomen. The second seizure revealed anomalies inside all four tires containing nearly 54,000 blue fentanyl pills and approximately nine pounds of methamphetamine. “Both of these seizures highlight how drug trafficking organizations exploit children as part of their business,” stated Chris Leon, Area Port Director for San Luis.
