When's the right time to adopt a waterfall approach to building Power Platform or Dynamics 365 apps? A recent article suggested there were six scenarios where it makes sense to apply a traditional waterfall methodology to your project. They are: 1. Predictable requirements 2. Regulated industries 3. Fixed-price contracts 4. Small or simple projects 5. No agile experience 6. Lots of dependencies Out of these six suggested scenarios, there is only one I would use with a waterfall approach. Listen or find out! ?? Audio: https://lnkd.in/gEeqx6XE ?? Video: https://lnkd.in/gYKd6HWD What do you think? If you team still prefers a waterfall approach, let me know why in the comments below ??

It's 2025, and I'll still surprised how many Power Platform professionals reveal their lack of Scrum knowledge with a few simple interview questions. Let's make it your year to learn Scrum! What is Scrum? (and why should Power Platform teams care?) ?? Audio: https://lnkd.in/gFC3MhJ4 ?? Video: https://lnkd.in/gSGA25st Keep experimenting ?? -Neil

Are Scrum Masters Overrated? A recent article by Maarten Dalmijn and a change in circumstance of our own scrum master prompted me to reflect on one of my team's recent experiments: Do we really need a dedicated scrum master? Key takeaways: 1?? Empowered teams can thrive without a dedicated scrum master: Drawing parallels from Maarten's article and refereeless teams in Ultimate Frisbee, scrum teams can self-manage and hold each other accountable. 2?? Experimenting with hybrid roles: At Superware, we ran an experiment by having a developer, Sapan, take on the scrum master accountability. The hybrid approach has kept the team's velocity steady and brought additional benefits by allowing us to hire and train a new developer. 3?? Conditions for success: Combining scrum master and developer roles may not suit every team—especially newer or less cohesive ones. Yet, in well-established teams with experienced members and supportive environments, this approach can be highly effective. ?? Join the Conversation! Share your thoughts and experiences on scrum masters. Have you tried hybrid roles in your Scrum teams? Always be willing to experiment and evolve. That’s what Scrum is all about! ??
