We are food service professionals who love freshly brewed coffee, homemade pastries, inspired sandwiches and salads and most of all making Curt’s Café a welcoming and comfortable home away from home. We strive to use local products and vendors, we make everything possible from scratch, and we enjoy trying new recipes that our customers and staff bring in. We also believe in giving back to the community and with that intent the café is designed to provide training to youth living in at-risk situations, in both food service and life. We consider the Café an opportunity to “dine with purpose”, by enjoying great food and helping the community at the same time.

Congratulations to Curt's Café (USA) on becoming a People and Planet First, Verified Social Enterprise through our partnership with Purchasing with Purpose. Curt's Cafe improves outcomes for young adults living in at-risk situations through work and life skills training. They offer cafes in Evanston and Highland Park and a catering service in the Chicago area with freshly brewed coffee, homemade bakery items, sandwiches, soups, and more. Curt's Cafe prioritises local products and suppliers and makes everything possible from scratch. Their student trainees are between 15 and 24 years old, and many have been in contact with the judicial system, experienced homelessness or food insecurity, or dropped out of school. Curt's Cafe provides paid work, transportation assistance, meals, workforce and life skills training, cultural exposure trips, on-site case workers, mentorship, and job placement support. Graduates have had a 5 percent recidivism rate compared to a youth recidivism rate above 85 percent for the rest of the state.
