The Time for Action is Now: Reprocessing our SNF is the Answer The recent court ruling on Oyster Creek’s spent fuel storage highlights a stark reality—what was once considered "interim" is now being treated as permanent. This is not just an Oyster Creek issue; it’s a nationwide failure to act. The U.S. sits on a massive untapped energy resource in the form of spent nuclear fuel. Instead of letting it sit in dry casks indefinitely, we should be reprocessing and recycling it.
