Our mission is to fund innovative research and treatments to find cures for all childhood cancers in our lifetime.
关于我们
In 2005, just one year after the devastating loss of their nine-year-old son Killian to leukemia, Grainne and Clay Owen founded Curing Kids Cancer to celebrate Killian’s life and fund research to find cures for childhood cancers. Since then, Curing Kids Cancer has raised more than $26 million for innovative pediatric cancer research and treatments. Together, we are impacting pediatric cancer, and we invite you to join us on this life-changing journey.

Meet Dr. John Prensner, pediatric neuro-oncologist and assistant professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. ??? With the support of a Curing Kids Cancer Research Grant, Dr. Prensner and his team are making critical advancements in the fight against ATRT (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor)—one of the most aggressive brain cancers affecting young children. By studying how ATRT cells communicate and drive tumor growth, Dr. Prensner's research aims to block these signals with targeted drugs. Early results have shown promise in stopping cancer cells from growing, offering hope for new treatment options in the future. Together, we’re pushing forward to find cures for children with cancer. ?? #HeartForCures #PediatricCancerResearch #CuringKidsCancer #ATRT #CancerResearch #ChildhoodCancerAwareness

Meet Dr. Joyce Ohm, Chair of Cancer Genetics & Genomics at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. ??? With the support of a 2024 Curing Kids Cancer Research Grant, Dr. Ohm and her team are making incredible strides in developing targeted therapies for Ewing Sarcoma—a rare pediatric cancer that primarily affects the long bones in the body. Their innovative approach combines two novel inhibitors (DDK and WEE1 inhibitors) to shrink tumors more effectively, all while reducing the need for traditional chemotherapy. These groundbreaking results offer hope for safer, less toxic treatments that will change the future of pediatric cancer care. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of kids and their families. ?? #HeartForCures #PediatricCancerResearch #CuringKidsCancer #EwingSarcoma #CancerResearch #ChildhoodCancerAwareness

We are incredibly proud to announce that our co-founder, Clay Owen, has been awarded the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award for his remarkable dedication and achievements in the fight against pediatric cancer. After the heartbreaking loss of their son Killian to leukemia, Clay and his wife Grainne turned their grief into action by founding Curing Kids Cancer, raising over $29 million since 2005 for life-saving research. The Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award recognizes graduating seniors, alumni, and faculty from select colleges and universities in the Southern United States for excellence of character and service to humanity. This prestigious award serves as a permanent reminder of the noble qualities embodied by its first president, Algernon Sydney Sullivan, and honors those who demonstrate his ideals of heart, mind, and conduct through love for others and selfless service. Clay, a native of North, S.C., started his career in journalism at The Times & Democrat, WIS-TV, and The State newspaper before moving to CNN in London and later to AT&T, where he played key roles in launching Cingular Wireless and the original iPhone. He now serves as Professor of Practice at the University of South Carolina. Join us in congratulating Clay on this well-deserved honor!
