CURE fuels lifesaving research and critical support - bringing hope to brave families facing childhood cancer.

关于我们

CURE is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding targeted research while supporting patients and their families. CURE got its start in 1975 when Dr. Abdel Ragab gathered together a group of parents of childhood cancer patients to raise money to further pediatric oncology research and establish a support network for families facing childhood cancer. Since that time, CURE has made significant contributions in the advance toward curing childhood cancer and has also provided critical support to thousands of families and children battling childhood cancer. As an organization, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and efficiency. As such, CURE Childhood Cancer has been given Charity Navigator's coveted 4-star rating for 16 consecutive years. Only 1% of charities have received at least 16 consecutive 4-star evaluations. CURE fills a vital role in our local community, but CURE’s reach goes far beyond, advancing research that has the potential for widespread application in the quest to cure childhood cancer. As a result of funding by CURE, new therapies and drugs continue to be tested, and collaborations formed which continue to make headway in the battle against childhood cancer and ultimately finding a cure.

  • From CURE's CEO, Kristin Connor, "Yesterday, I had the honor of testifying before the Georgia House Health Committee in support of the Hope for Georgia Patients Act. I am deeply grateful to Chairman Hawkins and the committee members for their thoughtful consideration and to Senator Brass for championing this vital legislation. The committee voted in favor of the bill, moving it one step closer to becoming law. Now, it must make it onto the House calendar for a full vote before the legislative session ends on April 5th. For children with cancer who have no treatment options or have exhausted every standard therapy, time is not on their side. The research pipeline moves far too slowly, not because the science isn’t there, but because childhood cancer is underfunded and too often overlooked. Right now, promising treatments exist but are out of reach - not because they don’t work, but because the system wasn’t built for children with rare diseases. We cannot ask these children to wait another year. This bill would open doors for families and doctors to pursue treatments that may be their only chance at survival - while there is still time. I urge Georgia’s leadership to bring this bill to a full vote and pass it into law. Because no child should die waiting."

  • One year ago today, the world lost a true hero whose rhythm moved not just feet, but hearts. Brit Turner, founding drummer of Blackberry Smoke, wasn't just a musician – he was a beacon of hope in the childhood cancer community. When his daughter battled stage-4 neuroblastoma, Brit made a promise: "When my daughter was diagnosed, I felt completely helpless and I made a promise to help people going through the same thing." It was a vow he kept until his final day. Through Blackberry Smoke, he raised more than $700,000 for childhood cancer organizations, but his impact went far beyond numbers. He quietly paid a struggling single mother's mortgage for six months. He surprised hundreds of nurses with light-up shoes. When he heard of families in need, his eyes would well up and he'd simply ask, "What can we do to help?" Even facing his own glioblastoma diagnosis in 2022, Brit's commitment to helping children with cancer only grew stronger. To CURE, Brit wasn't just a supporter – he was family. The Brit Turner Family Fund continues his legacy today, helping children and families navigating the storm of cancer. In loving memory of Brit Turner (1967-2024) – a devoted father, talented musician, tireless advocate, and friend to all, including countless children he never met but held close to his heart. Your rhythm lives on in every life you touched. You can read our full tribute to this amazing man at https://hubs.ly/Q0390b180.

  • Please welcome Scott Rosenblum to CURE’s Board of Directors. Scott is a principal and co-founder of Hugo Posh, a diversified investment company with investments and operations in real estate, hotels, hospitality, and technology. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, the outdoors, great music, reading, working with great people, and developing great projects. He said, “I have long felt that pediatric cancer has been far more in the background from an awareness standpoint and has lacked the resources, attention, investment, and research initiatives of diseases that target other age groups. Although I do not have personal experience with childhood cancer, I have always wanted to be able to make a difference and be part of the solution to defeating this dreadful group of diseases and make a difference in the children that experience this and in the advances that one day will eliminate this from children’s and everyone’s lives.”
