  • Rebecca Rosato, Public Services Librarian at the New Cumberland Public Library, Named February 2025 Employee of the Month Mechanicsburg, Pa. – Rebecca Rosato has been named Employee of the Month for February 2025 by the Cumberland County Library System Foundation. Jamie Albrecht wrote, “After the departure of our library director, Rebecca stepped into a leadership role in our library guiding all of us through many transitions - the loss of a director and the oversight of a large renovation. She certainly did not have to take on the load that she did, but she did so willingly and gracefully. She has managed to keep our library running smoothly through all the changes. We are so lucky to have her!” Katie Putnam wrote, “We have had quite the unusual few weeks at New Cumberland Library with extended closings for renovations. Rebecca has been instrumental in making sure things run smoothly, including finding creative and unique solutions to help us continue to serve our patrons during the renovations. She is always a calm, helpful presence and I have been grateful for her kindness and leadership during renovations AND our time without a director.” Emily Young stated, “She was dedicated to being the leader the library needed to get us through a period of change. Rebecca is loved and deeply valued by her coworkers and community, and she is a tremendous asset to the Cumberland County Library System.” Eileen Baylor wrote, “In addition to performing her own job in a superior manner each day, Rebecca stepped up (for the second time in 18 months) to act as library director.?In the past two months Rebecca coordinated a major renovation of the library.?She displayed poise and grace when dealing with the many challenges which came up during this time.?Rebecca is wise beyond her years.?She is a great leader.?Her dedication to our library is apparent in everything she does.” Bonnie Morton included, “Rebecca is very knowledgeable about everything here at New Cumberland Public Library.?Her quiet, unassuming leadership is very effective.?I really appreciate her friendly and helpful manner.?Rebecca is a joy to work for!” Nancy Martin added, “Rebecca has done a wonderful job of managing the library during our time without a director.?She took control of the library renovation project and kept things going to its successful completion working with the contractors, electricians, etc.?The renovation required the movement of thousands of books both before and after the project and Rebecca scheduled staff to accomplish this and other required tasks.?Rebecca is an asset to this library and should be recognized for all she contributes to enable us to provide service to our patrons.” Finally, Jennifer Mehalick comments, “Through all the changes over the past few months, Rebecca has been organized, adaptable, and resilient. Her commitment to our library is admirable and she deserves to be recognized for all of her hard work!”
