Over the years, the Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE) has been labeled too radical. The thing is, we have also referred to ROWE as a radical re-thinking of the approach to work culture. Not because it's too extreme, but instead because of its thoroughness in getting to the root of work culture challenges. Think of it this way: "Radical?was first an adjective, borrowed in the 14th century from the Late Latin?radicalis, itself from Latin?radic-,?radix, meaning "root." And the earliest uses of?radical?are indeed all about literal roots, hinging on the meaning "of, relating to, or proceeding from a root." (Merriam-Webster) Using adaptive change strategies, we help employees on all levels get to the roots of the challenges an organization is facing. This includes openly discussing and dismantling strongly held beliefs about how people should work. When mindsets shift from subjective judgments to objective metrics, radical change can be achieved.
