According to the latest Gallup report on the State of the Global Workplace, “Gallup has found that 70% of the variance in team engagement can be attributed to the manager. When managers are engaged at work, non-managers are also more likely to be engaged”.? Managers (leaders) are as more critical to an organization as intellectual property, brand, processes, or any other asset. Yet, many organizations invest significantly in their IP, brand, processes, products and services while neglecting the development of their leaders/managers. No wonder Gallup found that 53% of U.S. employees are "Thriving," while 43% are "Struggling," and 4% are "Suffering"—a trend that mirrors global patterns. According to Gallup, “Becoming a highly engaged organization was an intentional effort of leadership over several years. Leaders who build strong and resilient?[cultures]?focus on a few things that set them apart from other organizations.”? This is the competitive advantage I constantly speak about! This is one of the reasons why I wrote? The Culture Driven Organization!?https://a.co/d/fXUZ9C0 I’d love to hear your thoughts—feel free to comment and share!

In my book The Culture Driven Organization, I define organizational culture as “The manifestation of the shared beliefs reflected in common behavior.”??Thanks to the inspiration by Diana Miret, I will be focusing on the day-to-day characterization of culture traits; what is the common behavior that is seen? This in turn will give you, the leader, an idea of what culture or culture trait you have. For the next few weeks, I will focus on Process traits. Here are two excerpts from the book.?https://a.co/d/1C2UuRR “WHAT CULTURE EXISTS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION?? There are many organizational culture types, each with distinctive traits, which can be organized and categorized in various ways. Here are a few concepts to consider:? 1. Your process:?Is it fully automated vs. manual, highest-integrity vs. legal-focused, role-based vs. task-oriented, centralized decision-making vs. decentralized, or documented vs. spoken? This category is intricately linked to the desired character of the organization’s processes.” “Many culture traits are not immediately evident and may require careful observation and consideration to uncover. In some instances, these traits become apparent only through the outcomes or results they produce. The subtlety of these cultural aspects can make them more challenging to identify, but understanding their impact on results is key to deciphering them.” Cultivate Culture LLC #leadership #workplacewellness #employeeexperience #culture #workplaceculture #cultureatwork #corporateculture #theculturebuilders #culturematters

Vision part 1: Last week I posted that “Philosophy is the Soul of Culture”. This week I am sharing an excerpt from my book, The Culture Driven Organization (https://a.co/d/0i7LSXRo), discussing different aspects of "Philosophy” and how you can define it as an organization. Vision will be the focus of this week! “Vision, Mission, and Values individually serve a purpose in articulating organizational Philosophy. Let’s explore each term separately. VISION The proverb ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish,’ underscores the crucial role of vision in guiding a collective purpose. Vision, often described as ‘the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom,’ is focused on the long-term future. It may represent an aspirational goal that might never be fully attained but serves as a persistent purpose that guides ongoing efforts and endeavors. A Vision statement serves as the embodiment of an organization’s purpose, expressing why it exists.” Cultivate Culture LLC #leadership #workplacewellness #employeeexperience #culture #workplaceculture #cultureatwork #corporateculture #theculturebuilders #culturematters
