Allow us to Reintroduce Captain Joe Curtis! Captain Joe Curtis is now the in-house polygraph examiner for the Culpeper County Sheriff's Office! This is the first time in CCSO history that we have had an in-house polygraph examiner! We asked Captain Curtis, "Why did you want to become a polygraph examiner?" "I've been interested in this field for a long time," Curtis replied. "The selection process for school was strenuous – 18 months to secure a seat so it's something you have to be committed to. The school itself is Northeast Counterdrug Training Center (NCTC) in Fort Indiantown Gap, PA with 13 weeks of onsite training. Plus, they are funded thru federal grants so there was no tuition or lodging expense to CCSO." Having this service in-house provides many advantages to the community's safety: - Additional investigation tool for criminal cases - Thorough background checks for new hires - Administrative and internal affairs investigations support - No more relying on contractors or external agencies Captain Curtis is currently completing his apprenticeship, with the next steps being the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) licensure test. We're proud to announce such a significant milestone in our investigative capabilities. Please join us in congratulating Captain Joe Curtis on this milestone! #CCSO #PolygraphExaminer #CaptainJoeCurtis #InvestigativeExcellence #Innovation #LawEnforcement
