Check out some of the ways our teams reduce waste and protect water, our most precious resource, around the world. ? ???At the?United Center?in Chicago, we eliminated single-use plastic water bottles by offering aluminum bottles and installing refill stations for millions of annual visitors. ? ??The?OASIS International Poland team advanced its commitment to zero waste by swapping plastic for eco-friendly alternatives—paper tape, recycled stretch foil and cardboard instead of bubble wrap, among others. ? ??Making local waves,?the?Culligan Espa?a?team hosts coastal cleanup initiatives to remove plastic waste from beaches with community volunteers. ? On #GlobalRecyclingDay, we celebrate progress, but we know there’s still more work to be done. 26.2 miles in Bologna! Huge congrats to everyone who showed up and conquered the Bologna Sport Marathon on Sunday! ?? We had an incredible time cheering on runners from around the world while helping Italy reduce its environmental footprint. The Culligan Italiana S.p.A. team provided over 10,000 participants with sustainable hydration, making this one of Italy’s first marathons without single-use plastic water bottles. Run. Hydrate. Recycle. Repeat. ????♂???

Today, on the United Nations International Day of Women & Girls in Science, Culligan’s very own senior lab manager and quality assurance officer, Maria Mozdzen, visited the science classes at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, an all-girls high school in Chicago.? Inspiring the next generation of women leaders in science and sustainability, Maria conducted lab tests to help the students better understand what’s in their water – and she offered students the chance to run tests, too! The Mighty Macs asked great questions about innovation improving water quality around the world and how thoughtful water habits can reduce reliance on plastic and make great impact for our planet. With 24 years experience, Maria leads our Illinois-EPA certified Water Analysis Lab, managing a team of four scientists who happen to also be women. Together, they test over 16,000 water samples each annually, helping people take the first step in improving their water quality at home, at work and on the go.
