We're excited to announce that we’ve installed Wrong Way Detection technology on 123 ramps to date and are on track to complete 135 ramps by year-end. These systems include flashing lights to alert drivers when they are traveling in the wrong direction, and have safely diverted 80% of wrong way drivers. Thank you to the Office of Governor Ned Lamont, Connecticut State Police, and the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection for working with us to improve safety. Recently we celebrated the 25th anniversary of GIS Day, an annual event celebrating geographic information systems and the use of geospatial data.?Many states utilize this anniversary to gather geospatial data professionals together and learn about advancements in the technology from software vendors, as well as share experiences about how they have utilized geospatial data to solve complex real-world problems. ? This year, the conference included over 40 Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT)?employees in attendance managing or using GIS, who learned about automating geospatial data management processes, availability of new critical managed geospatial datasets, integration across GIS and office productivity tools, as well as updates to the State's Data Plan. ? CTDOT has invested heavily in data-driven decision-making processes and the hyper local nature of the work DOTs do means that continuing to grow our workforce is critical to maximizing these investments.?Easy access to data and increased transparency helps everyone achieve more! #CTDOT #GISDay #GeographicInformationSystems
