关于我们
Dream, design, shape, repeat. That’s what we do in Connecticut. We invent. We build. Even if we’re just making happy lives. We’re makers. It’s why we came here, and why we’re here for good. We make everything from high-tech helicopters and jet engines to the nation's best pizza. We're hard at work on scientific breakthroughs in medicine and aerospace even as we speak. Even if you're not a maker in the traditional sense, think again, because you are. Teachers and homemakers are crucial to Connecticut because the most important "thing" we make is our people. They're our competitive advantage. That's why we invest billions in our schools, our communities, and their safety. Connecticut is one of the best places on the planet for building a family, a business, or living out a dream. So let’s keep dreaming, designing, shaping, and repeating up a storm until we come up with something incredible yet again. What will you make next? Connecticut. Make it here.

?? I'm always proud of our amazing state. This particular moment makes me especially proud. The agreement to demolish the long-vacant coal plant along Bridgeport Harbor represents more than just the removal of an eyesore—it’s a strategic investment in the economic future of Bridgeport and Connecticut. Through $22.5 million in state funding from the Community Investment Fund, we’re not just clearing the way for new development; we’re paving a path for opportunity and vibrancy. This 33-acre waterfront site holds incredible potential to create spaces where people can live, learn, work, and play. It’s a chance to attract businesses, grow jobs, build housing, and enhance public access to one of Connecticut’s most beautiful natural assets—the shoreline. This project is about revitalizing Bridgeport and tapping into its vast potential as a hub for economic growth, environmental sustainability, and community vibrancy. By unlocking this site for redevelopment, we’re not only addressing decades of environmental challenges but also creating a destination that will draw visitors and investors from across the globe. The transformation of this property signals a brighter future for Bridgeport and demonstrates what’s possible when we prioritize equitable, strategic investments in our cities. This is yet another definition of what it means to "Make It Here." #Connecticut #MakeItHere #Development #Vibrancy #Sustainability | Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development | State of Connecticut - Office of the Governor | CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection | Katie Scharf Dykes | Daniel O'Keefe | Matthew J Pugliese

Really excited about this project. Not only will this eyesore (and yes I called it a "dystopian hellscape!") along our Bridgeport waterfront be coming down, but it also gives the community a chance to be involved in its reimagining. And a thanks and kudos to the DECD team that worked incredibly hard on this. https://lnkd.in/dhgyMMeW

"As this project demonstrates, we continue to focus on ways to open up new pathways for growth and investment and improve the quality of life for all our state’s residents. The Community Investment Fund is one of the most impactful tools we have to strengthen our cities and towns, making them more vibrant and attractive places to live, work, visit, and play." - Commissioner Daniel O'Keefe.

??Coach Geno Auriemma has done it again, becoming winningest coach in college basketball history. He surpassed the legendary Tara VanDerveer of Stanford. Geno hasn’t just coached basketball, he has made?winning a way of life here in Connecticut.?For four decades, he’s crafted a program that’s not just about championships—it’s about excellence, grit, and a commitment to being the best. It’s no wonder Connecticut is the Basketball Capitol of the World with Geno’s 11 women’s titles making up all but six of UConn’s nation leading 17 college basketball championships. From epic seasons to producing WNBA stars, Geno is the foundation of our storied hardwood history.?Congrats, Coach, for showing the world what it means to?make it here—and win while doing it! #Connecticut #MakeItHere University of Connecticut #Basketball

You've done something right when you're part of pop culture conversations (in a good way). ????The recent launch of the Connecticut Christmas Movie Trail by the Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism and the Connecticut Office of Film, Television & Digital Media was celebrated and solidified on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon with a skit starring Jon Hamm and Lindsay Lohan. Watch below to see how it played out ?? Why is this great? Because it means the work to draw positive attention to Connecticut is working. This is the second time in the last few months Connecticut has been mentioned by late night talk show hosts. Stephen Colbert spoke about the new state highway signs declaring Connecticut the Pizza Capital of the US. #MakeItHere #Connecticut #MarketingStrategy

Safety and accessibility are two of the biggest reasons why Connecticut is consistently ranked in the top five healthcare systems in the nation, most recently top two by Forbes. Seeing Hartford HealthCare jump nine spots into the top three for safety solidifies the state's value proposition as a great place to live because families can rest easily knowing their health and wellbeing is covered. #MakeItHere #Connecticut
It is a proud day for healthcare in the State of Connecticut. Our state has solidified its place as one of the nation’s healthcare capitals and now ranks as the third-highest in the nation for hospital safety, according to the independent The Leapfrog Group. This remarkable achievement is due to the 14 Connecticut hospitals that received a prestigious “A” grade for safety — including all seven Hartford HealthCare acute-care hospitals, a distinction we have earned for the second time. This significant recognition reaffirms that the safest care in the nation is right here in Connecticut – a point of pride for all of us.?Thank you to all the clinicians and caregivers who are making Connecticut a destination for world-class healthcare!
