The phrase "Speed to Power" resonated throughout the event, emphasizing the industry's push to deliver power faster than traditional transmission planning timelines allow. The growing demand for faster transmission solutions led to discussions on innovative technologies like composite core conductor technology, which can double transmission capacity without long delays. Grid resilience was also a hot topic, especially in areas facing wildfires and extreme weather. Maria Pope (Portland General Electric) highlighted the need for wildfire mitigation standards.
