I have a AMAZING CCO role which will report to the CEO and work closely with members of sr mgmt team. This will include partnering with other leaders to create new products and services, building credit processes &models, identifying new market opportunities and exploring partnerships with other organizations to expand our reach. The CCO will be responsible for building a team, along with current Credit Professionals, that will be capable of making the new Credit System a reality. It would be ideal for the candidate to speak Spanish (but key need is for deep deep consumer credit experience). The candidate can be remote but should be willing to travel one or two weeks a quarter. What is most important is that YOU have experience in building and managing relevant Credit portfolios in “non traditional” (sub prime, informal, etc.) segments and are passionate to help us achieve our mission. HEAD OF UNDERWRITING-NOVA Interested candidates PM me!!! What you will do: The ideal candidate will understand tenets of underwriting commercial / small business clients while also being intellectually curious and self-motivated. You will own the Underwriting function including but not limited to: managing the application evaluation process and building / managing the relevant team. As Head of Underwriting, you will lead the assessment of new card applications, be responsible for underwriting & portfolio management and will lead a team of underwriters to continuously improve and enhance underwriting functionality. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ~Facilitate the credit needs of customers by underwriting new requests and material modifications from deal screen through decision making. Ensure a successful transition of approved deals to customer success team for onboarding. ~Review applications and supporting business documentation on accounts to determine the legitimacy and identify potential fraud. ~Study all relevant credit and financial information, including but not limited to financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureaus and any other pertinent information. ~Determine the credit need and evaluates creditworthiness, and performs credit investigations, as needed. ~Use of sound judgment; following guidelines, policies, and procedures and take proactive steps to complete tasks and to resolve issues and concerns. ~Partner proactively with relationship managers and customer success associates to be intimately involved throughout the application process, from deal screen through approval. Preferred Qualifications: ~Analytical BA/Masters degree ~7+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, with majority in credit underwriting ~3+ years of experience in credit analysis/underwriting for commercial/small business lending. ~Experience in start ups ~Strong written and oral communication skills, coupled with the ability to drive consensus around complex decisions ~A proven track record of decision making and problem solving base
