According to research that was published in the December 2022 edition of the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, 9.8 percent of US urban-dwelling adults over the age of 65 reported using public transportation in the month before they were surveyed, and more than 20 percent of these older adults reported that they “rely on transit to see their regular doctor.” For the full story: https://lnkd.in/gmzkEfF3

The work at?CCAM-TAC will be focused on measurable, data-driven outcomes for both passengers and communities, not just better, more coordinated processes.

Thank you to FR Conversions for hosting Scott, Loreal, and Meredith from CTAA at their facility in Westminster, Maryland! We learned about the technology that helps drive efficiency and innovation in manufacturing their vehicle conversions, including their most popular rear-entry transit van with room for one or two wheelchairs.

During the CTAA Legislative Fly-in last week, more than 100 CTAA members from small urban, rural, tribal, NEMT and specialized transit systems in 40 different states attended 125 meetings with House and Senate members and their staff! In person meetings are crucial to tell the unique stories of transit across the country and how widely it impacts communities. Congratulations to all involved! And thank you to our incredible staff and partners for making the educational and networking events surrounding the Fly-in such a huge success.

This is the first and very important step in the center’s new data initiative. Data is a vital and necessary tool for transit agencies, and this new initiative aims to help create digestible, easy-to-implement tools and resources for smaller agencies.
