LEAD had the honor of attending the?2025 Naugatuck Valley Community College Foundation Donor Appreciation Luncheon?at the Technology Hall Building on the Waterbury Campus. The event was a wonderful celebration of community and collaboration. We were warmly welcomed by?Charles E. Pagano, Jr., Chair of the NVCC Foundation, and inspired by remarks from the Mayor of Waterbury,?The Honorable Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. A special thank you to the talented students of the?Hospitality/Culinary program?for the delicious food; Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator Daniel Lestrud shared insightful words about the program. Dr. Angela Chapman, Associate Dean of Development, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donors and highlighted the profound impact of their contributions. It was moving to hear from students?Elisabeth Heggie?and?Laszlo Nagy, who shared how these donations have positively affected their lives. Congratulations to?Professor Polato?on receiving the?"You Changed My Life Award,"?presented by?Diane Texeira, Secretary of the NVCC Foundation, and?Teshana Byers, Chair of the NVCC Alumni Advisory Committee. We are grateful for the invitation and look forward to exploring more ways to collaborate with NVCC and the NVCC Foundation. Thank you for including us in your Annual Appreciation Luncheon—we're excited for many more years of partnership ahead!

Today, I had the pleasure of joining my colleagues July Miliano and Tomas Reyes at the "Celebration of Community" event at CT State Naugatuck Valley Waterbury Campus. We were thrilled to see NVCC students thriving in their career paths and were incredibly impressed by the professionalism and skill displayed by the Culinary/Hospitality students who prepared and served a delicious meal. We also enjoyed a preview of Twelfth Night, a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic, which will be showcased November 14th-17th. These students’ performances were truly fabulous—grab your tickets now! Congratulations to the dedicated teachers and staff at NVCC for your outstanding work! Special thanks to Lisa D. , Antonio R.
