“Your brand is the story that others tell about you when you’re not in the room.” —Oprah Winfrey Your personal brand isn’t just how you present yourself in the classroom or the workplace—it’s who you are in all areas of your life. Whether you’re a student or an alum, how do you want to be remembered, and does your brand align with how you show up both at school and in your career? Thank you for the great reminder Marsha-Ann Donaldson-Brown of Sandals Resorts International. ??
"What does your personal brand say about you? Sometimes, we get so caught up in titles, positions, and external validation that we forget the essence of who we truly are. May we never forget...Titles fade. Degrees are in frames. Status shifts. Material things devalue. But your brand, That’s forever! It’s not about what you do or what you’ve achieved—it’s about who you are, at your core. YOU are a brand! Every interaction, every decision, and every post contributes to how the world sees you. Today, I challenge you as I challenge myself to pause and reflect: What do you want your personal brand to stand for? Are your actions aligning with the message you want to send to the world? In this video, I posed the question for reflection because your personal brand matters more than your title and it's important that we never forget this. ?? I’d love to hear from you: What’s one word you want people to associate with your personal brand, and why? Let’s inspire each other to grow and own our unique stories! #PersonalBrand #Leadership #SelfAwareness #Speaker #WomeninHospitality #ProfessionalDevelopment #Personaldevelopment #marshaannb

TELL CONGRESS: Fund Our National Marine Sanctuaries! ?? Our national marine sanctuaries are a vital part of the ecosystem, and they need the proper funding and staff support to thrive. Right now, Congress is deciding the federal budget, and the funding they allocate to these sanctuaries will directly impact our ability to protect some of the most precious natural resources and wildlife in our oceans. Marine sanctuaries do more than just preserve wildlife – they also support our coastal economies, create jobs, and promote community health and prosperity. These “underwater parks” are an essential part of both environmental and economic sustainability. With a potential government shutdown on the horizon, it’s critical that Congress understands how much these sanctuaries mean to us and our communities. It only takes a minute to email your lawmakers and let them know that you support funding for national marine sanctuaries. Your voice can make a difference. Send your message NOW at marinesanctuary.org/action Let’s ensure our oceans and coastal communities have the support they need! ???? #MarineSanctuaries #ProtectOurOceans #SupportOurCoast #ActNow

Sustainable tourism… more than you think. ????
Reducing emissions is a key part of sustainable tourism—and so is supporting local communities. Research from the Adventure Travel Trade Association shows that 65% of travel spending with responsible operators stays in destinations, compared to just 14% with most high-volume package tours. By making thoughtful choices, travelers can lower their emissions, minimize their impact, and ensure their spending benefits local communities. Sustainability isn’t just about the environment—it’s also about supporting people. The partnership between Canine Companions? and Southwest Airlines is a great example of this, helping train service dogs for air travel through test flights. ???? By allowing service dogs to experience test flights, they’re ensuring smoother, more accessible journeys for those who rely on them. Thoughtful efforts like this help make travel more inclusive for everyone. ?? Creating a welcoming visitor experience starts with accessibility, ensuring that all travelers, regardless of their needs, feel supported and comfortable in a destination! ??
Twice a year, our San Diego Employees work with Canine Companions? to mock up a flight, so these sweet service dogs in training can practice their airport manners. Canine Companions is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs at no charge. Our Team went all out to make it feel like a real flight, complete with announcements and interactions. From check-in to boarding, these future service dogs get to practice being perfect passengers. The destination? Flight 619 from SAN to PAW (Pup City), of course! We're so proud to be part of helping these incredible dogs become confident companions for their future owners. And let's be honest, who wouldn't want to fly with these adorable faces? ?? ??????
