If you aren't familiar with Jessikka Aro or her work, now is a good time to get up to speed on the work of this courageous person. She started to investigate the Russian trolls’ impact on real people in 2014 and became the target of a criminal filth campaign by them that is ongoing. Despite this, Aro continues to train journalists and general audiences to recognize and counter the Kremlin's information operations. Her first book,?Putin’s Trolls, was an international bestseller, and her new book,?Putin’s World War, was published this year. CSPA was honored to welcome her last spring to address our 2024 Spring Convention.

CSPA invites you to support the future of scholastic journalism and make a critical impact during Columbia Giving Day. CSPA has been entrusted with a generous grant from the Ethel and Harry Reckson Foundation, designated as the CSPA Greenman Grant for High School Journalism fund, honoring the incredible legacy of Robert and Carol Greenman, two devoted educators and champions of student journalism. We invite you to contribute, so that we may support more students. The fund provides scholarships to CSPA events and workshops for high school journalism students from all backgrounds so they may meet and interact with peers from around the country and receive expert instruction from CSPA to empower them and amplify their voices. Your donation to the CSPA Greenman Grant for High School Journalism fund on Giving Day directly supports the Greenmans’ legacy and helps ensure that our next generation of journalists have the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive. https://lnkd.in/eB99wKuu

Basic Tips for Student Journalists Covering the 2024 Election Jeffery C. Mays, Metro Politics reporter for The New York Times, offers his advice for young reporters covering the election. Reminding and informing voters what issues are at stake, and what outcomes to expect if a particular candidate wins, is ultimately more valuable to voters than tracking poll numbers. https://lnkd.in/em2iMQwv
