First Day Shoe Fund is a special part of our community, and we were excited to join Maggie Hesketh at Woods Lake Elementary yesterday. We had two large groups of volunteers who eagerly fit hundreds of new shoes throughout the day. Yesterday, our team members hit the streets of downtown Kalamazoo in support of the Bronson Children's Hospital Run & Walk. Together, we raised $4,100 for critical life-saving services, many of which have directly impacted our employees' families. Earlier this week, a group of future builders visited Riverside Elementary School in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Kindergarten students had recently read a story about a construction site and were fortunate to have a real-life construction site outside their classroom. Working with faculty and staff, our project execution team created a controlled environment for the students to witness an excavator in action up close. #LearnWithCSM #CSMGivesBack #CareersInConstruction

Yesterday, CSM Group and MIOSHA hosted a Construction Suicide Prevention Week event at the Kalamazoo Country Club job site. Given that suicide rates for construction workers are nearly four times higher than the general population, it is crucial to focus on prevention strategies and provide mental health support. Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. We honor the 2,983 individuals who lost their lives in the 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center site, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93. With more than 8 million (and rising) workers in the industry, we must place as much focus on mental health in our workforce as much as we do the physical.
