CSA S16:2024 has been added for design of steel frames, composite beams, and composite columns. Seismic loading according to AS 1170.4-2024 is now available. Improvements have also been made to the user interface to better handle the location of forms when using multiple monitors. Ashraf Habibullah has made an indelible impact as the founder, president, and CEO of Computers and Structures, Inc. After graduating from UC Berkeley College of Engineering in December of 1970, it quickly dawned on Ashraf that much of the pioneering computer software that was being developed at Berkeley was not being used in practice by most structural engineers. He approached the chair of the division of structural engineering at Berkeley with a proposal to teach a course through the University of California, Berkeley Extension that would bridge the gap. The proposed course was approved quickly and was attended by dozens of prominent engineers, project engineers and managers.? Within weeks, Ashraf was inundated with inquiries from major firms who were interested in using the software for their design projects. At that point, at the end of 1975, Ashraf struck out on his own, offering consulting services in computer applications for structural engineers. Since its inception in 1975, CSI has been at the forefront of structural and earthquake engineering software, transforming the way buildings are designed in over 160 countries.? The footprint of Ashraf’s contributions extends far beyond individual projects, shaping the built environment and impacting communities on a global scale. By empowering engineers with sophisticated tools and capabilities, Ashraf has facilitated the realization of innovative and sustainable designs that push the boundaries of structural engineering. The legacy of Ashraf and CSI is etched into the skylines of cities worldwide and the infrastructure that sustains modern society. Ashraf has received numerous awards, including the SEAONC H. J. Brunnier Lifetime Achievement Award for changing the practice of structural engineering for the better with his development of efficient and usable structural analysis programs and was awarded SEAONC Honorary Member in recognition of his accomplishments in the field of Structural Engineering and his many years of service to SEAONC and to the profession.? He was also elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2024 "?????? ???????????????????? ?????????????????????? ???????????????? ?????? ?????? ???? ?????????????????? ???????????????? ?????? ?????? ???????????????? ???? ?????? ?????????????????????? ????????????????????". His contributions extend beyond engineering into the arts and social causes. As co-founder of Diablo Ballet and founder of the Engineers Alliance for the Arts, Ashraf has bridged technology and creativity, enriching communities, and inspiring future generations.
