Rural Credit Risk Intern
The Rural Credit Risk Intern will join the Rural Credit team in their commitment to working with the first line of risk to assess credit risk and ensure adherence to lending policy. In addition to credit approvals, members of the Credit Risk team act as a resource to loan originators in the area of loan policy, risk analysis, credit structure and terms so that loan proposals are adequately analyzed and structured to meet risk parameters set for the bank’s portfolio.

As a Rural Credit Risk Intern, you will complete tasks and projects associated with the Rural Credit function. The variety of assignments provides an opportunity for you to gain experience the credit approvals and credit risk functions. You will work full time (40 hours/week) for 10 weeks from June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025.

Internship Overview:

Salary Expectations:
Target Hiring Range: $22.00/hour
This position is subject to the terms of [RAF/Rabobank/RDS]’s compensation plans and policies. It is anticipated that the position will pay within the target hiring range. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons. Further, all full-time regular position includes all other benefits provided to [RAF/Rabobank/RDS] employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding about loan structures and credit products;
- Direct experience in day-to-day tasks of a Rural Credit Risk team member, which includes but not limited to credit analysis, review of loan files, and projects related to credit policy and portfolio monitoring
- Experience with financial statement analysis, credit analysis, and properly risk rating loans;
- Actively participate in team meetings and work cross-functionally with other areas of the RDS team and participate in loan committees and other aspects of credit risk management.
To be considered for the Rural Credit Risk Intern role, you must be:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related business major
- Junior or senior year standing
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Possess strong written and oral communication and comprehension skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite products
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects at one time
- Quick learner who can work well in teams, but also a self-starter who can work individually with minimal supervision
- Some exposure to short and long-term lending concepts and financial spreading is a plus
- Willingness to travel a potential of 2 weeks during the internship
