Children’s Service Center and the Conyngham Primary Health Care Center have joined forces with the WILKES BARRE, CITY OF Police Department for a Trading Card Outreach Program aimed at making positive connections between officers and youth in the city. As a lonstanding mental health and primary care agency dedicated to children and families, we are sponsoring 4 of the 61 participating officers who will provide trading cards during patrol operations, including special events throughout the region. According to WBPD Sergeant Steve Lada, the Trading Card Program is designed to engage youth in positive police interactions and enhance relationships along with other community policing efforts such as the development of the WBPD Bicycle Patrol Unit. Welcome to Children’s Service Center! Our integrated mental health and primary care programs support people of all ages. Opened as the Home for Friendless Children in 1862, Children’s Service Center (together with its adult care affiliate, Robinson Counseling Center and the Conyngham Primary Health Care Center) serves nearly 15,000 people annually throughout Northeastern and North Central Pennsylvania. As a regional leader in mental health services for children, adults and families, CSC and RCC operate 25 programs in six office locations, while serving numerous communities and school districts. More than 550 professionals and support staff provide assessment, counseling and crisis services, substance use disorder treatment and support, and primary care that includes prevention and screenings, sick care, and chronic disease management for people of all ages. Services provided at its Campus in Wilkes Barre, PA include: psychiatric and psychological evaluations; family medicine at Conyngham Primary Health Care Center for all ages; drug & alcohol counseling; day partial hospitalization; dialectical behavioral therapy; medication clinic; parent-child interaction therapy; first-episode psychosis services; and adoption. In addition, Community, family-based, and school-based services are provided throughout 13 counties and include, but are not limited to: autism, psychiatric rehabilitation, functional and intensive family therapy. It’s warming up in Tunkhannock at Children’s Service Center, where renovations are underway to prepare space at 133 West Tioga Street for integrated mental health and primary care to serve people of all ages.
