If you are looking for a new #emulator #framework for #cloud #data #center network with #SDN support, then here is our recent contribution EFraS (https://lnkd.in/gWyXA_Gb). No current emulator is available with SDN for Virtual Network Request (VNR). So far, researchers are using simulators such as GLPK, Alevin, CloudSim, Alib Utility, etc., which have their own limitations. EFraS offers various functionalities, including generating real-world SN topologies and VNRs. Additionally, it integrates with a diverse set of evaluation metrics to streamline the testing and validation process. EFraS leverages Mininet, Ryu controller, and OpenFlow switches to emulate real-time setups closely. Our EFarS is openly available on #GitHub. The primary contributors for EFraS are CS^3 lab members Keerthan Kumar T G and Shivangi Tomar. Nowadays we are using or adopting #cloudcomputing to serve different purposes of our computing job in terms of #instance or #virtualmachine (#vm). For this, we have to rely on the cloud service provider (CSP) (e.g. #aws, #gcp #azure). CSPs' are charging a good amount for providing computing services. However, CSPs provide different flavors of #VM, such as on-demand, reserved, and low-cost or spot, depending on the type of application hosted.? This work provides a performance analysis of such types of #VM to identify if there are any service level agreement violations (#SLA) from the CSP side. This interesting work was recently accepted in #comsnets 2024 (https://www.comsnets.org/) as a full paper.
