90+ Wiz early employees are now worth $10-50+ million! And more than 300 of them are multi-millionaires. Google just acquired Wiz for $36 billion. Apart from the investors, how many employees became rich? We broke down the number of employees who’d be millionaires using our People API and some assumptions. We analyzed hiring trends and found: - 90+ employees likely made $10M-$50M (early hires, senior execs, founding engineers). - 250+ employees likely made $1M-$5M (mid-stage hires, strong equity holders). - 300+ employees likely made around $250K - $1M (those hired in late 2022 - 2023) - Employees who joined in 2024 likely made around $70k-$100k (later hires with smaller stock grants & retention bonuses). ? This huge acquisition and the fresh minting of hundreds of millionaires will inject serious capital into the startup ecosystem, primarily in Israel. Expect ex-Wiz employees to fund, build, and launch the next wave of cybersecurity startups.

Which IIT in India graduates the most # of Y Combinator founders? We did the hard work so that you don't have to :)
Which IIT in India graduates the most # of Y Combinator founders? We uncover that below ?? First, some trivia about IITs: - IITs are one of the premier technology institutes of India - IITs have an acceptance rate of <1% (much lower than Stanford!) - IITs have 23 campuses across India - 270+ out of 10k+ Y Combinator founders are from IITs We dug through our data to breakdown the numbers by each campus IIT Bombay: 61 IIT Delhi: 49 IIT Kharagpur: 49 IIT Roorkee: 29 IIT Madras: 29 IIT Kanpur: 26 IIT Guwahati: 13 IIT Varanasi: 4 IIT Dhanbad: 4 IIT Ropar: 2 IIT Indore: 2 IIT Hyderabad: 2 IIT Gandhinagar: 2 IIT Jodhpur: 1 IIT Patna: 1 IIT Bhubaneswar: 1 It's interesting that the oldest IITs top the list. A strong founder alumni network definitely helps when starting up. Personal anecdote: one of the YC founders from IIT Bombay recently told me that a job at a big tech in the US campus is no longer the most coveted thing for CS grads. It is now founding a startup after graduating! Just 1 step behind Stanford where founding a startup after dropping out is considered the most baller move. Given that India is the fastest growing economy among the 5 largest economies of the world, we are going to see more Indian founders in the upcoming batches. These numbers are only going to increase in future and much faster!

You can learn a lot about a company from the roles they’re hiring for. But who has the time to click through dozens of career pages every morning? Product updates are underrated signals for sales, recruiting, and investment purposes. But how do you find this data? Signing up for a company’s email list? Checking a founder’s social media every day? It’s possible - if you had 48 hours in a day. But you don’t. So how can you monitor for product updates and be alerted in realtime? You can give that task to us. 1?? Give us a set of keywords you’d like to track such as “product update”, “new feature”, “product announcement.” 2?? Get instant notifications when we find posts with these keywords - straight into your inbox, Slack or via API into your internal system. That’s how we discovered the following founders launching new features in the last week: 1. Anders Bill launched Superfiliate Automations last week. 2. Ahmad Awais posted about an upcoming huge product update yesterday. 3. Mac M. posted a new product feature: monitoring follower growth yesterday. 4. Ankit Bansal announced an AI agent that they built in 2024. 5. Jose Fernandez Casta?o announced a product update - the Velaris Support Bot. --- ?? How do you track the growth of a YC startup without knowing its revenue? Insider tips from a YC backed startup ?? In a previous post we talked about how you can find YC companies before they are announced in the directory. And now we’re back with some tips on tracking their performance. Here are the signals you can track during the batch: 1?? ?????????????? ?????????????? ????????????: Potentially indicative of increasing number of users or viral marketing. Example from YC W25 startups: Solidroad (YC W25): Website traffic increased 56% MoM. Founders: Mark Hughes, Patrick Finlay 2?? ?????? ????????????????: Hiring during the batch might mean a demand for features or too many customers to manage -- good things. Example: Spott (YC W25): 1 active job opening.? Founders: Manu Vanderveeren, Samuel Smeys, Lander Degrève Harper (YC W25): 2 active job openings. Founders:?Dakotah Rice, Tushar Nair 3?? ???????? ????????????????: Press coverage before demo day might indicate a startup is doing something truly unique or special - a powerful signal. Example: Pickle (YC W25): Featured on TechCrunch. Founders: Daniel Park, Jason Cho, Sanio Jung, Chris Kang, Emmett Kim, Eunsoo Shin, Sam Yu 4?? ?????????????????? ????????????: Usually early stage startups like the ones in YC don’t hire until they raise funding. But if they are, you definitely want to keep your eye on them as their revenue is growing so rapidly they can afford new employees. Example: Mastra: 34% QoQ headcount growth. Founders: Shane Thomas, Sam Bhagwat, Abhi Aiyer Dalus: Hired 1 person in December. Founders: Sebastian V?lkl, Eliot Khachi FuseAI (YC W25): Hired 1 person in September Founders: Imogen Low, Saurav Bubber 5?? ?????????????? ???????????? ?????????? ????????????????:? Founders talk about their journeys on social media. Monitoring their posts can inform you in real-time about: new product launches, special events, hiring, or funding. Sometimes they also post their revenue growth and that’s something you don’t want to miss out on.? Example: Graham Sabin posted about launching CopyCat (YC W25) a week ago. Now, how do you track all these? It’s simple. We have 3 APIs to do this for you - Our Post, People and Company APIs. We’ll enrich founder details, watch for any updates on these signals and send you instant alerts to your Slack or email. ?? If you’d like us to start receiving these types of alerts on YC companies, DM us or drop a comment!

YC has birthed almost 100 unicorns. What about the other 4400 startups they’ve funded? ~ 50% of them are inactive. Ever wondered where the founders of these startups end up? About 1/4th of ex-YC founders are hired by big tech companies (Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Apple, Tesla, Meta, NVIDIA). Here are the top 10 companies that hire YC Founders: 1. Google - 472? 2. Meta - 395 3. Microsoft - 321 4. Amazon - 271 5. Uber - 167 6. IBM - 146 7. Apple - 131 8. Stripe - 68? 9. Twitter/X - 67 10. Palantir - 58 ???????? ???? ?????? ???? ???????????????????? ???????????? ???? ????-???????????????? ???? ??-????? We think so. Founders who are looking to head back into the job market after winding down a startup often struggle. They are labeled as generalists who don’t excel in one area and seen as tough to wrangle. However, that trend seems to be shifting. Leaders and managers are realizing the special skills and character that can be harnessed when hiring ex-founders. Also, being a generalist has its advantages as technology continues to flatten orgs. ?????? ???????????????? ?????????? ???????????? ????-???? ????????????????: Parker Conrad, Founder and CEO of Rippling, specifically seeks out ex-YC founders to run parts of his $10bln company. He “likes hiring and working with people that have a chip on their shoulder” and founders usually have that. Parker sees them as ‘mini CEOs’ that are competing in their individual markets, but have support from the rest of Rippling, he said in an interview with Paraform ???? ???????????? ???? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????? ??????-???????????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ???????????? ?????????? ?????? ?? ?????? ??????????????: 1) The growing brand of YC - more and more companies will recognize this on a resume as the equivalent to training at a top university or company. 2) YC founders are building brands as they grow their startup and their networks expand. 3) More folks like Parker Conrad will succeed and want to build a team of people with chips on their shoulders. Seems like you don’t have to worry about your startup failing if you get into YC - you land the dream job of many Harvard graduates ??

?? Want to see who the YC W25 startups are before everyone else? ?? Social media is your secret weapon. More and more founders are posting their startup journeys on social media and these announcements are the fastest you are going to hear about anything. But, how can you scour all social media platforms for posts that mention acceptance into YC? Well, Crustdata can track specific keywords in posts. 1?? Set keywords for us to track across social posts such as "YC launch," ‘YC W25’ , ‘Accepted Into YC’, ‘Y Combinator W25’. 2?? Get notifications when we find posts with these keywords -- straight into your inbox, Slack or just via API into your system. That’s exactly how we discovered that Spott (YC W25) founded by Manu V. , Lander Degrève , Samuel Smeys, Senne Dirkx and SalesPatriot (YC W25), founded by Maciej Szymczyk and Nelson Ray have been accepted into YC W25. ? The best investors know: getting in front of YC founders before anyone else is key. If you have the ability to act quickly, who knows, you could be investing in the next Airbnb or Stripe at their seed stage -- wouldn’t that be nice? ?? If you’d like us to start receiving these types of alerts on YC W25 Founders, DM us or drop a comment!
