Today, we’re taking a huge step forward with a $3.4B joint venture with Blue Owl Capital and Primary Digital Infrastructure to build a 200+ MW AI data center at the Lancium Clean Campus in Texas. Today, Crusoe, alongside Blue Owl Capital and Primary Digital Infrastructure, announced a $3.4 billion joint-venture to fund purpose-built data center capacity at the?previously announced?Lancium Clean Campus?in Abilene, Texas. Under the terms of the fully funded forward takeout, funds managed by Blue Owl’s Real Estate platform and Primary Digital Infrastructure will jointly sponsor the 206 MW, 998,000 square foot data center being designed, built, and operated by Crusoe. “Rapidly expanding demand for purpose-built data centers proves that markets know the future will be powered by #AI,” said?#ChaseLochmiller, CEO and co-founder of Crusoe. “We've designed this data center to enable the largest clusters of #GPUs in the world that will drive new breakthroughs in AI. Earlier this week, Crusoe CEO #ChaseLochmiller had the pleasure of speaking at the NYSE Tech Summit, alongside Shell CTO Selda Gunsel and Oklo Inc CFO Craig Bealmear, moderated by Eric Dresselhuys, CEO of ESS, Inc. They discussed Crusoe's favorite topic-- How are we going to meet AI’s demand for energy? As we know, AI takes a lot of energy and is expected to drive massive increase in the demand for electricity – in the US alone, demand from data centers is expected to double by 2028 – to 540 TWh – that’s more electricity than the entire state of Texas. Globally the story is the same. This fantastic discussion that spanned both the energy and AI sectors focused on new energy generation solutions, focusing on energy efficient AI infrastructure and perhaps most important how to move fast.
