Starting at 3rd Grade all the way through to 8th Grade, we provide the ability for boys and girls to learn the amazing game of rugby in a safe, fun and exciting environment. The Rugby Illinois State Finals are almost here, and we can’t wait!! On Sunday, our U13 team will be contesting 3rd place at 8am, and our U15 team will be gunning for 1st place. Regardless of the results, it’s going to be a great occasion. If you want to come and cheer on our Crusader kids, we will be playing at James O.Breen Community Park in St Charles. After the 6th and final game of the Rugby Illinois Youth State Championship, we couldn't be more proud of our teams. Our U15 team finished top of the table, and will go to the final game on June 2 to content the the Illinois State Championship. Our U13 team ended the season on a high, and will now go onto to content for 3rd place, while our Rookies continued to flourish in the Rookie festivals each week. While win, tries, points and the like always get the attention, the development of all of our players has been astounding. Most never knew about the game until a few months ago, but have worked hard to embody core values of teamwork, dedication, and respect. None of this would be possible without the countless efforts of our coaches, sponsors (Precision Partners; Cemtek Systems Inc, LightHouse Graphics, Ceramic Filter Alliance (CFA) and Winfield family Dentistry) and volunteers, while we are delighted how much our parents and kids have truly bought into this amazing sport and club. The Rugby Illinois Rugby Festival #2 turned out to be an amazing weekend for the Crusaders Youth Rugby Club & Illinois Valley Rugby Club teams. Thank you to the Chicago Hounds Rugby for hosting and hosting the #Youthrugby day!! A thrilling (and nail biting) 19-19 tie for our U15 team against a very strong Cobra A team, was followed by a very entertaining 43-34 win for our U13 team against the Cheddators!! As always, a fanatic showing for our Rookies who continue to show what a great future our club has. It’s truly a joy to see every player develop so much in the initial weeks of the Spring season. Parents and players are really getting into the spirit of what rugby, and the Crusaders, is all about. We can’t wait to continue to see every player continue to understand and love the game, and as always, a HUGE thank you to all the coaches, sponsors, and volunteers who, without your support, we wouldn’t be in such a healthy position. A great start to the Crusaders Youth Rugby Club season today. With nearly 50 Rookie, U13 and U15 team players representing our club on its 15th Year Anniversary, today was a proud day. With a win for the U15 and a loss for the U13, the key was getting so many players learning and developing in this great sport. Each player demonstrated such a great commitment, hard work, and aptitude - the season is only going to get better from here.
