We released a statement this?August in light of Bill's passing. At?CRRF's Annual General Meeting this year, the board announced the establishment of the Bill Reimer Legacy Fund. This fund is intended to exist in perpetuity as a means to?support new researchers and practitioners alike, allowing them to plant roots in the field and?exchange knowledge by getting them to our?conferences and similar events. December 3rd is Giving Tuesday. Please consider using it as an opportunity to help us kickstart the legacy fund so that we can help support new CRRF'ers as they establish themselves in rural. The State of Rural Canada report provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse challenges and opportunities facing rural, remote, and northern communities across the country. While each region maintains unique context, several overarching themes emerge from this fifth version of the report that paint a picture of rural Canada as a complex mosaic of resilience, innovation, and transformation. We here at RDI are incredibly excited to announce that we will be collaborating with the Journal of Rural and Community Development to host the 2025 Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation Conference! Exploring themes of Technology, Data Governance, and Capacity Building, we're hoping to facilitate conversations, panels, and workshops that build connections. We know that there is data generated within rural communities, highlighting rural realities - we now want to explore opportunities to utilize this data for sustainable community development! We look forward for the upcoming year, and will be sharing all conference updates in the weeks to come!
