?? Fun Fact! Did you know that Mekel once developed a Polavision-based high-speed 8 mm camera called the Mekel 300 Instant Analysis Camera during the 1980s? ?? This innovative camera was built for precision and speed, making it a one-of-a-kind tool for its time. Fast forward to today, and this rare gem is still inspiring creativity! A few years ago, we received an email from a filmmaker asking if we had a Mekel 300 lying around. While we didn’t have one on hand, as the camera is no longer in production, we were able to track one down. When it arrived at our offices, our support team were excited to see and test out this unique piece of film history! The filmmaker planned to use it to shoot portions of their short feature, blending vintage film formats with modern digitization to showcase the timeless artistry of analog film. We are proud to implement our scanning solutions in our service bureau. Project Manager, Kristina, shares "The MACH Mini Fiche takes up a smaller footprint [than others on the market] and is great for small collections or unusual formats. There are a lot of possibilities for the future with this scanner! Our digitization team has worked with the MACH Mini Fiche on multiple projects recently." Back in 1975, MEKEL introduced its line of 16 mm HUD cameras, designed to be installed in aircraft worldwide — from England's RAF Sea Harrier to NASA's space shuttle flight trainers! ?????? These cameras captured critical footage through their patented "Clear Vu" periscope, allowing pilots to see landing and approach through the HUD without any aircraft modifications (other than adding a video recorder).
