We’re proud to announce the launch of American Energy, the first domestic liquified natural gas (LNG) carrier to transport U.S.-sourced natural gas to Puerto Rico. In partnership with Naturgy this milestone helps ensure a reliable, lower-emission energy supply for the island of Puerto Rico while supporting U.S. jobs and energy security. At capacity, each delivery of LNG aboard American Energy can provide enough energy to power 80,000 homes for a year, building on Crowley’s 70-plus years commitment to help address Puerto Rico’s power needs.

We are incredibly proud of our 23 mariners from the Stena Immaculate for their heroic actions during the recent allision off the coast of Hull, United Kingdom. Their swift response and decisive actions in executing critical fire and emergency duties helped to save lives, protect the integrity of the vessel and minimize the impact on the environment. Against disastrous circumstances, the crew had the operational focus to ensure fire monitors were active in order to provide boundary cooling water which resulted in limited impact to just one of the 16 cargo holds. Their dedication to safety — not only for themselves but for others — sets a powerful example for the entire industry. We are deeply grateful for their bravery and dedication.

We are excited to announce that the first sailing of our Mexico Gulf Express service is set for May 16. Our land transportation team recently kicked off phase two of our Defense Freight Transportation Services (DFTS) program. After first being awarded the contract in 2017, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) extended its trusted relationship with our team for another seven years. One of the largest logistics contracts under the federal government, DFTS encompasses all forms of surface transportation throughout the continental U.S., Alaska and Canada, including less than truckload (LTL), full truckload (FTL), expedited, time definite and rail services as well as cross-docking and warehousing.

At Crowley, maritime innovation and career growth go hand in hand. Our team’s work on the Remote Control and Monitoring Station (RCMS) for the Progress LNG barge redefines the industry standard for efficient and reliable operations. The RCMS a solution that allows more efficient and reliable operations up to 1,000 meters away from the largest U.S. vessel of its kind. Crowley Wind Services is driving the growth of offshore energy with ongoing operations in New London. Recently, our Ocean Wind tug, alongside the third-party HDT Sam, towed Crowley’s 455-8 barge into port, where local tugs assisted in guiding it safely to the dock. This effort, carried out by skilled U.S. mariners, is part of our commitment to safely and efficiently transporting wind turbine components offshore — delivering the critical infrastructure needed to expand domestic energy.
