Log gaps are reduced from 28 seconds to under 6 seconds. ✅ Log Size Optimization: A handheld AI camera scans logs in the yard, identifying oversized logs before they enter the mill—preventing costly processing issues. Crafting Solutions for Plywood Specialty Mills At Crow Engineering, we have 50 years of experience in designing and delivering custom solutions for our clients. One of our recent projects highlights just that: ✅ Specialized Machinery Components: Engineered and fabricated new trash gate, apron drive mount and headshaft, hydraulic lathe floor, residual chutes, core chain takeup, haulback and veneer belts.  ✅ Getting Dirty: No existing as built information existed on this COE lathe.  Crow rebuilt the as-built model of the lathe using field notes.  These new models were then used to design new upgrades across the lathe that could be fabricated and set in place at the mill. These upgrades helped our client address one of their top downtime issues at the lathe - lock outs for core cross ups.  In addition, our other improvements significantly reduced clean up time around the equipment.   This is what we do best – listening to our clients, getting our hands dirty, and delivering solutions that are unique to the application.    Curious about how Crow Engineering can support your industrial operations?
