As the engineering team behind the design of the Freres Wood Plywood warehouse, we Crow Engineering Inc. are proud to see the excitement and recognition this project has generated. With more than 50 years of experience designing timber structures, our goal was to leverage the unique advantages of Mass Plywood to create a highly efficient system—optimized for both material use and constructibility. We believe the system we've developed represents a compelling alternative to traditional concrete tilt-up and steel roof construction for large-scale warehouses and commercial buildings. In fact, we see it becoming the standard solution for these types of structures and beyond. Crow Engineering as Part of the entire Plywood mill design, designed this ALTEC lathe foundation, usually this equipment is supported over the sub steel platform. However we designed this over a mass concrete foundation and analyzed for vibratory loads. Lathe is the heart of a plywood mill, if Lathe stops for any reason the plant stops. Crow Engineering Inc.
