Last week, Gilbane Building Company sponsored and generously provided food for a Veterans Day Luncheon for Crossroads residents & shelter guests! This luncheon provided our clients with military experience, and those who support the military, with the opportunity to have thoughtful conversations with veterans from Gilbane. Thank you to Gilbane for partnering with us to honor our veterans and for providing a delicious meal to clients at Crossroads. We're so grateful for your longstanding partnership!

Last week, Crossroads board members joined President & CEO Michelle Wilcox and other members of the leadership team on a bus tour of several of the permanent supportive housing developments and temporary emergency shelters that Crossroads owns and/or operates statewide. This experience highlighted the critical work we’re doing to provide safe, supportive housing and shelter for Rhode Islanders in need.?

On Tuesday, Rhode Island chose to invest in housing by approving Question 3 - Housing Acquisition, Developing and Infrastructure Bond Measure - a monumental step toward addressing our state’s housing crisis. This investment in housing will pave the way for more state-level support for safe, stable, and permanent housing for our most vulnerable residents—those experiencing homelessness, including families with children, working adults, and seniors who struggle to secure an available and affordable place to live. https://www.yeson3ri.com/

??? Last week, we celebrated a major milestone with a topping-off ceremony at the Summer Street Apartments! TRAC Builders installed the final roof truss, completing the framing for what will soon be 176 permanent, supportive apartments for formerly homeless Rhode Islanders. “Summer Street Apartments is a transformative development that will provide residents currently living in the Travelers Aid Building with proper apartments,” said Crossroads President & CEO Michelle Wilcox. “I am optimistic that Rhode Island will be able to accelerate affordable housing development in the years to come, especially with the Housing and Community Opportunity bond up for approval next month.”

To help prepare them for this exciting transition, we've partnered with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, which is providing cooking classes to teach residents how to prepare meals for themselves.
