We're thrilled to share that Crossroads President & CEO Michelle Wilcox has been recognized among Rhode Island Monthly's Outstanding Women! Michelle is spearheading the development of nearly 300 permanent supportive apartments across 3 different buildings to provide affordable housing in Rhode Island. Under her leadership, construction of the Summer Street Apartments, a 176-unit apartment building for formerly homeless adults, is well underway and on track for completion this fall. This spring, Crossroads will be breaking ground on nearby?371 Pine Street, a 35-unit health and housing apartment building for medically vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness. A complete renovation of Crossroads’ Travelers Aid Housing is also in the works and will add 81 additional one-bedroom and studio apartments in 2027.

As part of our ambitious efforts to create nearly 300 permanent supportive apartments in Providence, we've also been making much-needed renovations to our headquarters at 160 Broad Street! New LED lighting now wraps around the top of our building and new street-level lighting has been installed to help improve public safety. These improvements are designed to enhance the Providence skyline, create a more welcoming space for all, and serve as a beacon of hope to help those in need find their way to us.??
