The CrossFit Games are the world’s premier test to find the Fittest on Earth?. They are world-renowned as a grueling test for the toughest athletes on Earth as well as a thrilling experience for spectators. Since its inception in 2007, the CrossFit Games have become “one of the fastest growing sports in America,†according to Forbes THERE IS NO OTHER TRUE TEST OF FITNESS. The Games were created to fill a void—no other true test of fitness existed. From Ironman triathlons to the NFL, all other athletic events neglected to accurately test fitness. Even decathlons, while testing a relatively wide range of abilities, missed vital components of physical fitness. The CrossFit Games events are made up of a broad range of functional movements. Functional movements move large loads, long distances, quickly. These movements also form the basis of our exercise program. Make no mistake—the CrossFit Games are designed to test, not train, fitness. The goal is to find the fittest athletes, not to produce an easily replicable workout program. “Grief is love with nowhere to go.†Sara Wilkinson — wife of the late Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson, CF-L4 coach, and president of The Step Up Foundation — spoke with athletes before Individual Event 5 about loss, processing grief, and the meaning of tribute workouts. At the 2024 CrossFit Games, individual athletes took on a version of CrossFit Hero workout CHAD1000X. CHAD1000X honors Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson who died by suicide on Oct. 29, 2018, due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast-wave injuries, and PTSD. #CrossFit #CrossFitGames #Sports

Today is the saddest day in CrossFit history. We are shattered by the loss of Lazar ?uki? along with the entire CrossFit community. Lazar was one of our sport’s most talented competitors, but he was much more than an athlete. He was a son, a brother, and a friend to practically everyone who knew him. Fiercely competitive, incurably joyful and uncommonly kind, Lazar was the sun of any room he was in. The loss of his light is inconceivable. The first instinct is to shut down. To isolate. To mourn. But the only cure for grief is to grieve. And the best way to grieve is together. In our community, coming together to do hard things is how we pay tribute. In this spirit, we have decided to move forward with the 2024 CrossFit Games. This weekend is dedicated to Lazar ?uki?. We will open tomorrow at 10:00 am.
