?? ???????????????????? ??????????????’?? ???????? ??????????! The fourth work area of CROSSEU is dedicated to governance analysis and recommendations for policies and investments. Led by University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), its main priority is to facilitate climate policy responses, including mitigation and adaptation, and to enhance the integration of climate change risks in decision making and investments, both in public and private sector. This work includes: - Analysing mitigation and adaptation measures in relation to EU and national policies, building on insights from CROSSEU’s case studies and other work areas. - Assessing the impacts and responses in sectoral policies facing climate change, particularly through regionalised case studies, to evaluate the effectiveness of existing mitigation and adaptation measures, including cross-sectoral and pan-European perspectives. - Exploring the social aspects and consequences of climate change related policies, with a focus on social justice and equity. - Evaluating economic instruments and measures as a framework for addressing climate change challenges at both the EU level and in local levels. ?? Based on this analysis and informed by the work of the other CROSSEU work areas, the team will provide recommendations for ambitious and effective climate policy responses. ???? ???????? ???? ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????? ???????????????????? ?????? ???????? ??????????????????: https://lnkd.in/e9SdBfDB This work area is led by University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), with the support of ADMINISTRATIA NATIONALA DE METEOROLOGIE RA, University of East Anglia, World Meteorological Organization, Università degli Studi di Padova (UNIPD) / University of Padua, UCL, Knowledge and Innovation , LGI Sustainable Innovation, DTU - Technical University of Denmark, Faculty of Environmental Sciences – CZU in Prague, University of Bucharest Alice Ludvig, Katharina de Melo, Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, World Energy & Meteorology Council (WEMC), EDF, UK Research and Innovation, Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, BSEER Comms, UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources, DTU Management, STFC, CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, Mission Implementation Platform for Adaptation to Climate Change (MIP4Adapt), Nicholas Vasilakos, Jon Cox, Ale? ?? Check out our latest blog post! ?? The PIISA Project explores the role of insurance in changing climate and what policymakers need to know. With climate change intensifying, bringing more frequent and severe weather events, insurance emerges as a vital safety net, offering protection against the residual risks that even the most robust adaptation strategies cannot fully eliminate. ??????????????????? ??????????????’?? ???????????????????? ???????? ??????????! The second area of the CROSSEU project is dedicated to the sectoral Climate Change Hotspots and event-based storylines, to address socio-economic risks of climate change. Led by DTU - Technical University of Denmark, this work area focuses on: - Co-designing, co-developing, and co-evaluating storyline case studies, to explore socio-economic risks in highly vulnerable European areas. - Detecting and assessing sectoral Climate Change Hotspots (CCHs), which are defined by high exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity to climate change. They include areas impacted by health challenges, agricultural risks, and water scarcity at local, national, regional, and continental levels. - Assessing socio-economic impacts, especially economic vulnerabilities and societal consequences. They cover social justice, social cohesion, and gender inequalities in the impacts of extreme climate events. - Developing impact model simulations and risk assessments for context-specific socio-economic risks, including mitigation and adaptation options. - Evaluating mitigation priorities and adaptive capacities within different EU economic and sectoral contexts, facilitating stakeholder dialogues to provide actionable European policy recommendations.
