I started SafelyYou because of the role Alzheimer's played in my family. As a grad student at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research, I felt like I had a 10-year window to build what I wanted for my mom before she reached the same point her mom and big sister reached. Almost 10 years to the day, just before Thanksgiving, my mom had a bad fall. She had just moved, and we didn't have the SafelyYou system in place yet. When she told me she had fallen repeatedly already and hadn't told anyone about it, you can imagine the guilt I felt. When her surgeon shared some unexpected risks before going into the operating room, you can imagine the fear. Her surgery went as well as it could have and she's recovered amazingly well since then thanks to an amazing surgeon, an incredible support team, and through a lot a sheer force of will from our family. The experience was painful, eye opening, and really important for me to see for myself. There is a better way. AI is moving quickly, and we at SafelyYou are making sure that no one is going to benefit more than our seniors and their caregivers. Today, I'm thrilled to announce our Series C funding led by Nagraj Kashyap and Touring Capital. This takes our total capital raised to a truly mind boggling $100m. This funding will allow us to expand our reach and help more senior living communities leverage AI to predict residents' care needs and really elevate what the job of caregiving is.
