Our community gathered to celebrate the Feast Day of our patron saint, St. Joseph, with special guest Fr. Greg Boyle, S.J., of Homeboy Industries, who reminded us of our mission beyond these walls. "Cristo Rey is not the place you come to, it was always going to be the place to go from, to imagine a circle of compassion, and then imagine nobody standing outside that circle. And that's the only praise our exhausted God has any interest in." These powerful words inspire us to carry forward our commitment to empower students to college, career, and heaven, and for creating a more just world. #CristoRey #CircleOfCompassion #FatherBoyle #FeastDay #HomeboyIndustries

关于我们
Cristo Rey Orange County High School is located in Santa Ana, CA, and is part of the national Cristo Rey Network. Member schools use a rigorous academic model, supported by best practices in instruction and assessment, to prepare students with a broad range of intellectual abilities for college and life. Further, Cristo Rey Network schools employ an innovative Corporate Work Study Program that provides students with real world work experiences. In this unique model, every student works an average of five days a month to fund the majority of the cost of his or her education while gaining job experience, growing in self-confidence, and realizing the relevance of this education. Students work in various corporate and business settings including law firms, banks, hospitals, universities, and with other professional organizations. Cristo Rey Orange County High School will open its doors to its inaugural freshmen class in the fall of 2023. Like all Cristo Rey schools, Cristo Rey Orange County is a Catholic, college preparatory high school for students of all faiths from families of limited financial means. The school is co-educational and serves students of diverse backgrounds. We help our students grow intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and professionally. Our aspiration is that all our students graduate from high school and college and become the future leaders in our churches, institutions, businesses, nonprofits, and the community at large.

Our Cristo Rey sophomore, Amalia, is in this week's issue of the Orange County Catholic in their feature on the second annual Go Forth retreat. Amalia was honored to speak during the retreat partly held on the Christ Cathedral campus, sharing her powerful testimony: "Then when I stood up to receive the Body of Christ, I felt a weight come off my shoulders. A weight that I never even realized I had. And in that moment, everything was perfect. I felt as if my soul had finally been fulfilled." We are so proud of Amalia! Our very own student, Ashley, took to the stage to open the discussion by sharing her work study experience Latham & Watkins. Special thanks to our distinguished panelists Annette Morgan, M.B.A. of City of Hope Orange County, Oscar Gonzalez of Northgate Market, Paul Cook of Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD), for sharing their invaluable insights on workforce development, artificial intelligence's impact, and the power of early professional exposure in shaping students' futures. Thank you to Cristo Rey Orange County High School for bringing leaders from across industries together today to talk about the future of work and education in Orange County. Ian O. Williamson, Dean of the Paul Mirage School of Business, Oscar Gonzalez, President, Northgate Market, and Paul Cook, general manager, Irvine Ranch Water District, and I had a robust discussion about ways to invest in the next generation. City of Hope Orange County and many other organizations are participating in Cristo Rey’s Corporate Work Study Program, which equips students with limited economic resources with access to industries, career pathways, essential skills, and mentorship. Setting aside time to help the next generation find their passion creates a ripple effect. By doing so, you will be helping create a healthier and more vibrant community.
