This summer, over 250 high school students nationwide participated in the KPMG Empower High School Experience, and we’re proud that more than 50 Cristo Rey student associates engaged in the program. Through individual and group projects, our students delved into business fundamentals, public accounting, and professional services, gaining invaluable insights and skills. Thank you, KPMG, for this incredible partnership and for helping to broaden our students’ perspectives on potential career paths and the skills needed to thrive in these fields. We are excited to share our collaboration with KPMG US on the Empower High School Experience this summer. It's an enriching, three-week internship for high school students that exposes them to public accounting and professional services career opportunities as they begin their career journey. As part of the experience, interns interact with KPMG mentors, gain career insights, and immerse themselves in a professional environment. Nationally, over 250 high school students, including students from 10 Cristo Rey schools, participate in this program across different cities. The Cristo Rey Network is proud to collaborate on this impactful initiative that aligns with our commitment to advancing students' knowledge, character, and skills. In the midst of summer, student leaders maximized their break at the Student Union for Mission Alignment (SUMA) conference in Kansas City. They gained valuable insights on college counseling initiatives, explored university partnerships, and built relationships with peers from across the country. Our host, Cristo Rey Kansas City, welcomed rising juniors and seniors from 21 of our 40 high schools to explore a new city and college life, while fostering friendships and better understanding the ins and outs of our diverse Cristo Rey community. We're thrilled to announce a?$2 million grant from the?#DeloitteFoundation, marking the fourth consecutive year of support. This?grant will provide invaluable college scholarships to graduating seniors in our Class of 2024 across 36 of our 39 Cristo Rey schools.? ? Recipients, named as?Deloitte?Foundation?Scholars, will receive between $2,000 and $10,000 towards their chosen four-year degree in eligible majors like accounting, finance, mechanical engineering, and much more.
