The other featured speaker on the podcast is Catrina Gilbert, the Vice President of Risk at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) airport in Texas. Catrina talks about her experience at DFW and highlights two initiative she and her team are involved in there: working with partners to combat human trafficking and working with the Global Sunflower Lanyard Program to assist people with hidden disabilities. Had a chance to catch some of the sessions and had fantastic conversations for former colleagues and other professionals in the industry., learning: - what is changing in the industry, - how this #VUCAD world is rapidly shifting, - New views on the needs of the C-Suite from security directors - and introducing them to #Presilience and #RiskIntellegnece Way too many people to list, but a couple of photos below. I even made it to the The Security Foundation (TSF) dinner (thanks Michael Gips and Don Taussig, CPP for your help with that)! Congratulations to Jerry Tavares for his selection as executive director and to the whole OSAC Staff for all the work they put into the event and thanks to Steve Slupski, Luis A. Matus, and the rest of the team at Amazon for hosting and herding the cats. I look forward to continuing the conversations until we meet again!

#Teach Great time yesterday afternoon presenting with Michael Gips at the RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) conference. Wonderful audience participation in our session on Bridging the Silos: the Art and Science of a High Performance ERM Program. It was a lot of fun teaching about #RiskIntelligence, team dynamics, leadership, and #Presilience - all focusing on the human side of the developing a strong ERM culture for companies in this #VUCAD world we are living in. Thanks to the team at RIMS for selecting our presentation and I hope to be back for #RiskWorld in the spring!

Got to learn from the top professionals in the field including John Hagel, who delivered an outstanding day 1 keynote on embracing change to risk management. I loved that he highlighted the power of the “explorer mindset” and the importance of a “zoom out - zoom in” strategy: zoom out - what do you want your business to look like in 20 years; zoom in - what 2-3 things can you do in the next 6-12 months to progress towards in that direction. Also love his focus on scalable learning models instead of scalable efficiency models. The also enjoyed the sessions on geo-political risk, risk maturity models, the power of conducting. “Pre-mortems,” and engaging stakeholders through gamification. Plus- it has been a great opportunity to network with professionals from around the world! Thanks to RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.) for putting on a great event. Mike Howard put together a great panel of leaders from a range of sectors to share their insights on the importance of #leadership, #culture, #resilience, #mentoring, and #lifelonglearning. I also got a chance to meet new folks in my new town of Wheeling, WV and learn about many of the growing businesses in the region.
