Principals and educators, consider integrating community service into your school programs to provide students with real-world learning experiences. These CHARLOTTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL students demonstrated the power of giving back through their volunteer work at Crisis Assistance Ministry. Their Winterim program, which included preparing donated items for the Free Store, allowed them to witness firsthand the impact of their efforts. We offer structured volunteer opportunities that align with educational goals and provide students with valuable insights into community needs. https://buff.ly/OgprXQI

Spring Break 2025 marks another successful volunteer collaboration with Howard University—their third year of dedicated service during their serve week. This year, their focus was on enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of our PASS warehouse, a key resource for partner agencies. By reorganizing the space to align with an enhanced partner shopping model, the Howard University students significantly improved the experience for other organizations dedicated to serving our neighbors. Their help means more of your donated items are making out into neighborhoods and communities where they are most needed. University collaborations like this engage students in meaningful service projects and allow them to put their values into action.

This #BlackHistoryMonth, let's celebrate the contributions of Black leaders who fought for economic and social justice.

This #BlackHistoryMonth, let's celebrate Maggie Lena Walker, a champion for social and economic justice. Her leadership of the Independent Order of St. Luke and founding of the St. Luke Penny Savings Bank empowered her community through cooperative economics, creating jobs and building Black economic independence. Like our mission, Walker promoted financial stability, providing capital for Black businesses, mortgages, and dignified employment, particularly for Black women. Your support helps Crisis Assistance Ministry empower individuals and families to achieve economic independence, continuing Maggie's legacy.
