Our Malaysia team celebrated the #LunarNewYear and ushered in the Year of the Snake with excitement and cultural appreciation, sharing a delightful toss of the Prosperity Yu Sheng while cheering on New Year greetings and crafting decorative calligraphy pieces during the Fai Chun activity (a traditional Chinese art of writing auspicious phrases on red paper). Everyone, both Chinese and non-Chinese?colleagues came together to revel in these traditions. During the visit, Mr. Lawrence Ng, our CEO; Mr. Siddharth Priyesh, VP and Head of Americas & EMEASA; and Mr. Gustavo Davis, Senior Sales Director of LATAM, discussed collaboration opportunities with the ACP and explored how our innovative tech solutions can contribute to the canal's continued success by streamlining information flow and further optimizing trade efficiencies. Adding to the excitement, we officially opened "The Hive" – our new collaborative space designed for employee engagement, team discussions and training workshops. Our Malaysian Finance team recently had the opportunity to connect with their Singapore counterpart and CFO,?Sharon Tan, during an introductory session. The team enjoyed a delightful dinner gathering and a bonding session at?Kuala Lumpur's Pasar Seni, where they participated in a morning walk and a scavenger hunt. This immersive experience allowed them to engage with local culture while navigating Malaysia's public transportation system via LRT. The scavenger hunt was designed around the?Fish! Philosophy, particularly focusing on the principle of "Be There," which encourages teamwork and collaboration. At the same time, our SVP & Head of Global Technical Resource Management,?Isson Jacob, visited the Malaysia office and engaged with various teams. Each team introduced their members and shared updates about their projects and initiatives. This interaction provided Isson with a comprehensive overview of the office's operations, concluding with a Q&A session where employees could share their thoughts and suggestions regarding ongoing projects. Additionally, the Malaysia team held their monthly?Brown Bag Wednesday Lunch?session, where General Manager?Ming Kiat TAN?presented on “An Exploration of Moral Development and Decision-Making.” His talk highlighted the complexities of moral development, discussing factors such as personal values, societal norms, and external pressures that shape behavior. The topics for these Brown Bag lunches are wide-ranging and not limited to work-related domains, fostering an environment of open dialogue and learning.
