It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Russ Burns, a respected leader, colleague, and friend whose impact at Clayco—and across the industry—will never be forgotten. Russ brought unmatched dedication and integrity to every role he held. His leadership was defined not only by the results he delivered, but by the way he inspired those around him—with humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to doing the right thing. Russ played a vital role in shaping Clayco’s success and culture. His contributions laid the foundation for many of the relationships, values, and accomplishments we continue to build on today. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him. Russ, you will be greatly missed. We thank you for everything.

We’re thrilled to see Chapter Madison near the University of Wisconsin-Madison, one of our latest #studenthousing developments, featured in Multifamily Dive for its sophisticated, community-conscious design. Special thanks to our design partner, Lamar Johnson Collaborative, and its principal Alan Barker, for sharing the highlights of this project. Here are a few design innovations that set Chapter Madison apart: ? Site-savvy design: Strategic setbacks at the 5th and 9th floors help the building fit a narrow wedge-shaped site while respecting the historic neighborhood’s scale. ? Community-driven solutions: Widened sidewalks and a local artist’s mural were incorporated to enhance the streetscape and secure city approval for the project. ? Elevated amenities: A penthouse clubroom and rooftop sun deck give all residents access to stunning campus and city views. Amenities like coworking spaces, private study rooms, a fitness center, and outdoor lounges create an exceptional student living experience. ? Timeless interiors: High-quality materials and finishes that exceed typical student-housing standards give the interiors a timeless, sophisticated feel, attracting undergrads, grad students, and young professionals alike. As student housing evolves, what other innovations do you think will shape the next generation of campus living? We’d love to hear your thoughts! ?? #Midwest #industrial #realestate remains a hotbed of activity, with markets like #Chicago, #Minneapolis, #Columbus, and #Louisville leading the way. Low vacancies, strong logistics infrastructure, and steady demand drive continued investment, despite a slowdown in new construction. CRG’s Steve Schnur recently shared insights with REBusiness Online on how companies navigate these trends. The Cubes at French Lake in Minnesota, a 1 million SF development, and The Cubes at ORD near O'Hare International Airport, highlight the spectrum of demand—from large-scale logistics to infill last-mile solutions. With strong industrial fundamentals, 2025 is expected to bring renewed leasing momentum. As companies refine their supply chain strategies and expansion plans, well-located, modern facilities remain in high demand across the Midwest. ?? Wellness in #studenthousing and #multifamily is no longer just a gym—it’s an expectation. As Alison Mills notes in the recent interview with #ConnectCRE, today’s renters want spaces supporting mental health, fostering community, and enhancing well-being. The focus is on holistic living, from meditation rooms to smart fitness tech and biophilic design. This shift is more than a trend—it’s a response to changing lifestyles. Renters seek spaces promoting balance, connection, and overall well-being. Developers who prioritize wellness are creating communities where people want to stay. What’s the next must-have wellness amenity? Share your thoughts below, and check out the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gcS2PdUU

With over 300 million people affected, rare diseases aren’t as rare as they sound. For me, it’s even more personal because RVCL took my mom when she was just 50. Back then, there was little research, no roadmap, and almost no hope. That’s why we created Illumination, to change that story. Since its founding, this community has raised over $10 million to fund RVCL research, bringing hope to families and helping scientists get closer to breakthroughs. On Rare Disease Day, we’re reminded why communities like Illumination matter. When people come together, awareness turns into funding, research leads to breakthroughs, and what once seemed impossible becomes reality. Join our cause and donate today. Projects like The Cubes at ORD, The Cubes at Etna, and The Cubes at French Lake are prime examples of successful industrial developments within these markets.
