Allen Academy LEAP Week: Monday With CREI Partners! At CREI Partners, we believe that real-world experiences are some of the best teachers, and yesterday, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome a group of middle and high school students from Allen Academy to our LUXE 20x50 storage facility. As part of their signature LEAP Week—a program that pushes students beyond the classroom to explore meaningful, hands-on learning—these students dove into the world of entrepreneurship, real estate investing, and financial literacy. Wayne had the privilege of sharing his journey in commercial real estate, walking them through how CREI Partners came to be, and discussing the value of assets, net worth, and strategic investing. Students competed in a real-estate-themed game of Monopoly, but with a twist: the rules were adjusted to simulate real-world entrepreneurship, forcing them to think critically about deals, leverage, and cash flow. The excitement didn’t stop there. Each student was then given a single paperclip and challenged to trade up over the next two weeks, bartering their way to the most valuable item possible. The student with the highest-value trade at the deadline will win a $100 prize! This exercise is designed to hone their negotiation skills and creativity—essential traits for any entrepreneur. To wrap up the day, we travelled to our land where our new development project will take place this year to show the value that an entrepreneur must see in land opportunities that others may not. We then asked the future entrepreneurs what are five things that they learned during their time spent with us today, and their answers were great! 5 Takeaways: - if money is the issue there is no issue at all. Abundance mindset vs scarcity. - Partnerships are essential for growth at an accelerated level to offset what you need to close the deal. - Two types of investors: debt (banks) and equity. Both are essential to entrepreneurs to fund and develop projects. - Entrepreneurs find a problem and solve the solution. - If you want to soar with Eagles, don’t fly with Turkeys. Proximity to people doing what you want to accomplish is essential. Programs like LEAP Week provide students with invaluable lessons in leadership, problem-solving, and financial independence. Seeing their enthusiasm and willingness to take on these challenges was truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that some of these young minds will go on to shape the future of business and investing.
