You are invited to LIFTOFF, a celebratory ceremony for the inaugural class of LAUNCH Savannah! LAUNCH Savannah is a 12-week intensive course for aspiring or newly established entrepreneurs, hosted by the City of Savannah, the Creative Coast, and the Small Business Assistance Corporation. We are very proud of everything that our inaugural class of innovators have achieved, and we are excited to celebrate them! During the LIFTOFF ceremony, the founders will pitch their businesses, and will also receive their scholarship packages of support services. Last week we had a blast at the very first (but certainly not the last) Savannah Doers and Makers event! Our community has so many incredible people in it doing incredible things, and it was great to celebrate and learn from just a few of those people. Last week, we brought some of our region's changemakers together for an inaugural Startup and Small Business Summit. We believe that our community is stronger when we all work together, and we're excited to see how these partnerships can help us toward the common goal of supporting small businesses and startups in the communities we serve. Today we want to highlight an awesome success story from LAUNCH Savannah! Andrea Flowers is one of our inaugural Launch Savannah founders. As a perk of the program, all founders were delivered a free one-year membership to the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce. Andrea dug through the benefits of membership and discovered that members have the opportunity for free advertising for their small businesses in our community. We are delighted to welcome another fantastic board member to the Creative Coast family! Faye DiMassimo, FAICP currently serves as the Chief of Planning and Economic Development at the City of Savannah. She has more than 40 years of experience with federal, regional, and local public entities as well as the private sector in the development, management, and delivery of multimodal systems, complex planning projects and programs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Masters of Community Planning and Public Administration from Auburn University. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP). Faye says: "It is an honor to join with the talented leadership of the Creative Coast Board, as we continue to build a Savannah where all can thrive."
