CEF's vision is to unlock the creative genius in everyone.

关于我们

The Creative Education Foundation (CEF) was founded in 1954 by Alex Osborn, one of the original advertising "Mad Men", who believed everyone is creative and can learn to be more so. CEF is dedicated to providing programming and resources to empower people with the skill set, tool set, and mindset of deliberate creativity. To this end, CEF presents the longest running deliberate creativity conference in the world, the Creative Problem Solving Institute (www.cpsiconference.com). Attendees from around the world come to CPSI to learn deliberate creativity, innovation skills, and change leadership to transform their businesses and enrich their lives. Join us at CPSI and go to www.creativeeducationfoundation.org to learn more about our work.

This #creativity tip from Mark Graham, Managing Partner at New Food Studio: "Food builds relationships. Whether that is eating a meal together or preparing a meal together, the sharing of food builds common ground for communication and mutual understanding." Something to keep in mind as we get ready for those sometimes-awkward family holiday gatherings.

As I reflect on the incredible journey we've shared over the past ten years at the Creative Education Foundation (CEF), I am overwhelmed with gratitude, pride, and a profound sense of purpose. Together, we’ve embarked on a transformative journey — one fueled by creativity, collaboration, and a shared belief in the power of possibility. Thank you for being part of this extraordinary story. These ten years have been life-changing for me, not only professionally but personally. This work has shaped me into a better leader, friend, wife, sister, daughter, and auntie. As I look back on all we’ve accomplished—building sound governance and management procedures, launching new programs, forging meaningful partnerships, and securing innovative revenue streams—I feel immense pride. But I also feel a deep sense of anticipation. We are far from finished. In fact, I believe our most important work lies ahead, and I couldn’t be more excited to take on these challenges with all of you. Whenever I meet with members of our community, I ask, “What is our next creativity frontier?” Just this week, I had inspiring conversations with Tim Hurson, Najja Bouldin, Alex Zorychta, Donnalyn Roxey, and Ryan Hammer. These conversations sparked deep curiosity about new opportunities to collaborate—collaborations that will not only strengthen communities but also expand access to creativity skills and support our growth as individuals and organizations. We live in a world that yearns for more common ground, deeper understanding, and deliberate creativity. At CEF, we know we can meet this moment. We have transformational programming, a remarkable community, and most importantly, we have you. Together, we can play an even bigger role in creating a more connected, compassionate, and creative world. I often describe Creative Problem Solving (CPS) as a practice that "helps us act right." It fosters self-reflection, empathy, and a mindset that embraces ambiguity with courage and grace. CPS reintroduces us to curiosity — a state of grace that opens the door to growth, learning, and transformation. In a world filled with challenges, CPS doesn’t just offer hope — it ignites meaningful action that leads to lasting results. To celebrate my 10th anniversary and set the stage for this next chapter, I am launching the Beth Miller 10K for 10 Years Fundraising Drive. This initiative will support our work and ensure we have the resources to embrace the opportunities ahead. I humbly invite you to join me in this effort. Your secure, tax-deductible donation can be made by clicking here: https://bit.ly/3vWTpze Thank you for your unwavering creativity. Thank you for your support. Let’s embrace this new adventure together and continue to change the world — one creative idea at a time. With gratitude and hope, Beth Miller

We’re thrilled to have kicked off the Creative Leadership Fellowship. Sponsored by Travelers, the fellowship is designed for entrepreneurs and business owners who have a commitment to the Hartford community. CEF’s Najja Bouldin and Beth Miller led the in-person workshop at the Trinity College-Hartford Innovation Center, where fellows took a deep-dive on the Creative Problem Solving Process and explored applications to their business challenges. Fellows will have on-going virtual and asynchronous training support in the form of workshops, office hours, and training videos. At the conclusion of the program, Fellows will execute an implementation plan for a particular business challenge or opportunity they face. #entrepreneurship #innovation #CPS #Hartford

We live in a world that needs more common ground, more understanding, and more deliberate #creativity. At the Creative Education Foundation, we believe we can play an important and bigger role in making the world a better place. That is our "I wish..." statement. My shorthand for Creative Problem Solving when describing it is that it "helps us act right." I know that it fosters self-reflection and compassion for others, and that it is transformational in the way it provides us the tools and skills and mindset to navigate ambiguity. I know that deliberate creativity reintroduces us to curiosity, which is at its core a state of grace and in that state we can learn and grow. With the many challenges that surround us, Creative Problem Solving unlocks not only hope, but action with lasting results. We look forward to continuing to foster impactful change with our creativity community. Beth Miller, Executive Director
