Erica Joy Baker is a powerhouse engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area, known for her outspoken support of diversity and inclusion. She has worked at big names like GitHub, Google, Slack, Patreon and Microsoft. In 2015, while at Google, she started an internal salary-sharing spreadsheet that revealed pay gaps and helped her coworkers negotiate raises. The spreadsheet lit a fire, sparking conversations about pay disparities, transparency, and equity that echoed throughout the industry.
